Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about working with MachProBot.
Our MOQ is flexible and depends on the manufacturing process:
- CNC Machining: 1 piece (we handle prototypes to production)
- Sheet Metal: 1 piece (prototypes) / 10+ pcs for production runs
- Rapid Prototyping: 1 piece
- Low-Volume Production: Starting from 50 pieces (varies by process and part complexity)
We're particularly strong in low-quantity orders and prototypes — you don't need to commit to thousands of pieces to work with us.
Lead times vary based on complexity, quantity, and process:
- Rapid Prototyping (3D Printing): 1–3 business days
- CNC Prototyping: 3–5 business days
- CNC Production: 7–12 business days
- Sheet Metal: 7–12 business days
- Low-Volume Production: 10–20 business days
Expedited options are available for urgent projects. Shipping time is additional (3–7 days by express, 15–30 days by sea).
We accept all standard CAD file formats:
- 3D Files: STEP (.stp/.step), IGES (.igs/.iges), STL, Parasolid (.x_t), SolidWorks (.sldprt), Pro-E/Creo (.prt)
- 2D Files: DXF, DWG, PDF (for reference drawings)
Recommended: STEP files are our preferred format as they preserve the most accurate geometry data.
We offer flexible payment options for international customers:
- T/T (Telegraphic Transfer / Wire Transfer): Standard for orders over $1,000. Typical terms: 50% deposit, 50% before shipment.
- PayPal: Convenient for smaller orders and prototypes (under $5,000).
- Western Union: Available for urgent payments.
For first-time orders, we typically require a 50% deposit with the balance due upon your approval of pre-shipment photos and inspection reports.
Yes — quality documentation is included with every order at no extra charge:
- Dimensional Inspection Report: CMM data for all critical dimensions
- Material Certificates: Mill certs for raw materials (chemical composition, mechanical properties)
- Surface Finish Report: Roughness measurements where specified
- Visual Inspection Photos: Pre-shipment photos for your approval
For production orders, we also provide FAI (First Article Inspection) reports. Additional documentation like RoHS/REACH compliance certificates is available upon request.
Absolutely. We take intellectual property protection very seriously:
- We're happy to sign your NDA before any design files are shared
- All project files are stored on secure, access-controlled servers
- Design data is only accessible to engineers directly involved in your project
- We never share, display, or reference your designs without explicit written permission
Many of our clients are hardware startups and R&D teams working on pre-launch products. Confidentiality is a core part of our service commitment.
